[구름 기둥과 불 기둥] 17. ○바로가 백성을 보낸 후에 블레셋 사람의 땅의 길은 가까울지라도 하나님이 그들을 그 길로 인도하지 아니하셨으니 이는 하나님이 말씀하시기를 이 백성이 전쟁을 하게 되면 마음을 돌이켜 애굽으로 돌아갈까 하셨음이라 18. 그러므로 하나님이 홍해의 광야 길로 돌려 백성을 인도하시매 이스라엘 자손이 애굽 땅에서 대열을 지어 나올 때에 19. 모세가 요셉의 유골을 가졌으니 이는 요셉이 이스라엘 자손으로 단단히 맹세하게 하여 이르기를 하나님이 반드시 너희를 찾아오시리니 너희는 내 유골을 여기서 가지고 나가라 하였음이더라 20. 그들이 숙곳을 떠나서 광야 끝 에담에 장막을 치니 21. 여호와께서 그들 앞에서 가시며 낮에는 구름 기둥으로 그들의 길을 인도하시고 밤에는 불 기둥을 그들에게 비추사 낮이나 밤이나 진행하게 하시니 22. 낮에는 구름 기둥, 밤에는 불 기둥이 백성 앞에서 떠나지 아니하니라	17. 결국 바로는 그 백성들을 보내 줄 수밖에 없었습니다. 그때 하나님께서는 블레셋 사람의 땅으로 지나가는 길이 가까움에도 불구하고 그 길로 인도하지 않으셨습니다. 이는 하나님께서 ‘그들이 전쟁을 당하면 마음이 바뀌어 이집트로 돌아갈지 모른다’라고 염려하셨기 때문입니다. 18. 그래서 하나님께서는 그 백성들을 이끌고 광야 길로 돌아 홍해 쪽으로 향하신 것입니다. 이스라엘 백성들은 이집트 땅으로부터 대열을 지어 올라갔습니다. 19. 모세는 요셉의 뼈를 가지고 나왔습니다. 요셉이 예전에 이스라엘의 아들들에게 맹세시키기를 “하나님께서 분명히 너희를 구하러 오실 것인데 그때 너희는 내 뼈를 이곳에서 갖고 나가도록 하라”고 했기 때문입니다. 20. 그들은 숙곳을 떠나 광야 끝에 있는 에담에 진을 쳤습니다. 21. 여호와께서는 앞서 가시며 낮에는 구름 기둥으로 그 길을 인도하시고 밤에는 불기둥으로 그들에게 빛을 비춰 그들이 밤낮으로 갈 수 있게 해 주셨습니다. 22. 낮에는 구름 기둥이, 밤에는 불기둥이 백성들 앞에서 사라지지 않았습니다.	17. Now it came about when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God did not lead them by the way of the land of the Philistines, even though it was near; for God said, "Lest the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt." 18. Hence God led the people around by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt. 19. And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, "God shall surely take care of you; and you shall carry my bones from here with you." 20. Then they set out from Succoth and camped in Etham on the edge of the wilderness. 21. And the LORD was going before them in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night. 22. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.

17. Now it came about when Pharaoh had let the people go, 

that God did not lead them     by the way of the land of the Philistines, 

      = even though it was near; 

for God said, "Lest the people change their minds when they see war, and they return to Egypt."

18. Hence God led the people around     by the way of the wilderness to the Red Sea; 

and the sons of Israel went up in martial array from the land of Egypt.

19. And Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, for he had made the sons of Israel solemnly swear, saying, 

   : "God shall surely take care of you; and 

you shall carry my bones from here with you."

20. Then they set out from Succoth and camped in Etham on the edge of the wilderness.

21. And the LORD was going before them     in a pillar of cloud by day to lead them on the way, 

    and in a pillar of fire by night to give them light, 

    that they might travel by day and by night.

22. He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day, 

 nor the pillar of fire by night, 

      from before the people.

* He knows them better than they do. He knows me better than I. 

: It is possible that the Israelite complain about the way of the wilderness. However, the God was thinking about the more important factor; if he led them in faster way, they would go back to Egypt again for the war. He knew their characters; as a slave for 430 years. They were servile servant, who cannot fight in a war. Because He knew them very well, although it takes 40 years, He gave another way to get out of Egypt. 

: If they went back to Egypt, their would become a servant. Although it takes 40 years, it's way shorter than 430 years. God thinks in the scale of a nation and tribe, not a person. It is possible that someone could die in 40 years. Maybe he can complain for being led in the way of wilderness. However, in terms of the nation of Israelite, 40 years could make the whole nation free. 

: Let's trust in His plan. I may not see the Ganaan in my life. However, his work in my life influences more than my life. 

* See the Joseph's faith!

: And look at how faithful the God is. His words, the solemnly swear about God's plan. I could tell there must be a close relationship between Joseph and God. He must listened what God promised him and his ancestry. 

: Do I have the close relationship with God? Am I listening to God?

: Do I have his words in my mind? What am I waiting for, and where am I running toward? 

* Lord was going before them in a pillar of day and night

: He is going before me. How sweet He is!

: In his sweet hands, they were safe in the wilderness. Oh God, please let me feel your helping hands. Please go before me, walk with me, and do not take your pillars of help away. Let me trust and do not feel threatened by the worldly happenings. 

내용관찰

1. 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성을 가까운 길이 아닌 광야 길로 돌아가게 하신 이유는 무엇입니까?(17절): 블레셋 사람의 길로 가려면 전쟁을 하게 될 것이고, 430년 동안 종살이를 해온 이스라엘의 백성은 전쟁을 감당하지 못하고 다시 이집트로 돌아갈 것이 분명하기에. 

2. 요셉의 유언 내용은 무엇이며, 모세는 이를 위해 어떻게 했습니까?(19절): 하나님이 그들을 돌보실 것이라는 것, 그때에 유골을 가지고 이집트에서 나가달라는 부탁. 모세는 이를 지켰다.

연구와 묵상

3. 하나님께서 이스라엘 백성 앞에 구름 기둥과 불 기둥을 떠나지 않게 하신 이유는 무엇입니까?(21~22절): 이스라엘이 밤낮으로 걸어갈 수 있게 하기 위하여. 광야의 낮은 뜨겁고, 밤은 춥다. 그러나 하나님의 구름기둥과 불기둥은 그 광야의 어려움으로부터 그들을 보호한다. 하나님은 감당할만한 시험만을 주신다는 말이 있듯, 40년 광야길로 인도하실 때 그분은 그것을 이겨낼 만한 힘과 환경을 또한 조성해주신다. 내게도 매디슨으로 이끄신 하나님의 손길 아래에는 이곳에서도 어려움을 이겨낼만한 환경을 주신 섬세한 돌보심이 있다. 

느낀점

4. 이스라엘 백성에게 필요한 것을 공급하시며 자신의 뜻을 이루시는 하나님의 모습에서 무엇을 느낍니까? : He is such a sweet God. Which gods can be comparable? 또한, 하나님의 크신 뜻 가운데에서도 자녀들을 돌보는 어미새 같이 그 백성을 돌보시는 손길에 너무나 큰 은혜를 느낀다. 

결단과 적용

5. 내 삶의 영역 중 두려움이나 염려로 인해 마땅히 해야 함에도 하지 않고 있는 것은 무엇입니까?

다시 그 일을 감당하기 위해 오늘 실천해야 할 일은 무엇입니까? 

: 두려움과 염려로 쌓여있는 일들이 많다...... 실천해야 할 일들을 list up 하고 얼른 끝내야겠다 ㅠㅠ 

* 구름 기둥은 열사의 태양을, 불 기둥은 밤의 추위를 막아 주는 보호의 목적을 가지고 있습니다. 하지만 보다 궁극적인 이유는 백성이 계속 '진행하게'(21절) 돕기 위함이었습니다. 하나님꼐서는 그들이 약속의 땅에 들어가 언약을 성취하기를 원하셨던 것입니다. 하나님의 보호는 안락의자가 아닙니다. 다시 돌아가지도, 멈추지도 말며, 그의 뜻을 향해 믿음의 행진을 계속하도록 하는 동력입니다. + 어떤 상황에서도 돌아가거나 멈추지 않고, 믿음의 전진을 이루는 주의 자녀 되게 하소서.
